The daffodils beneath the silver maple

the young school girl lays in the meadow of pastel wild flowers under the changing maroon leaves of the old silver maple, reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

In the crook of the swaying branches of the old maple sits her suitor, also reading.

In the distance the autumn trees sway as twin birds glide through the sky.
